I have a particular interest in material memory, time and data. Through my work I investigate the role of perception in understanding the material world, time and our relationship with knowledge.
The thread that runs through my current work is the relationship between time-based media and the traditional trilogy of drawing, painting and printmaking. The sequential or multiple, the arrested moment, accumulated time, material in motion or measurements of time.
My world is experienced through the prism of an aspergers brain, a sensory overload with no filter. Linear time is illusive and instead the Kairos is dominant; a time lapse, a moment of indeterminate time in which everything happens.
Time is something I feel in the present by the pull of the tide and in the past by the geological time embedded in land but it is that other time, the one I am also aware of, that brings me to art and to question what I don't know.
